I wonder what the base thermal chip is - a lot of products are based on the FLIR lepton units

And when the ‘screen’ is 320x200, it doesn’t necessarily mean the sensor is 320x200. Not that you really need that much resolution for useful things, anyway.
That said, standalone units are fine. Also, yes, every nerd should have a thermal camera in their toolbox.
